Media Center Dedication
The Santa Fe Media Center had it's formal opening on Monday, October 5, 2009 with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Superintendent Marjorie Williams. In attendance were Ms. Mims (Board of Education President), Mr. Spurgeon (Architect), Mr. Nutterfield (Assistant Superintendent of Finance), Dr. Swezy (Santa Fe Principal), Mrs. Rothmier (Santa Fe Media Specialist), the entire Santa Fe staff and student body, members of the district central office, and members of the community. After a motivational assembly, everyone toured the facility and students each received a bookmark celebrating the event.
Media Center Open House
You are cordially invited to attend an open house for the new Santa Fe Media Center during parent/teacher conferences on Wednesday, October 21st and Thursday, October 22nd. Tours will be given and photos will be on display to show the "before" and constuction phases. Come to see the new lighting, carpeting, furniture, 'kid-friendly' bookshelves, new meeting space, and new books!
Fall Book Fair
Make sure to mark your calendars now for the fall Scholastic Book Fair on November 13 - November 19. There will be lots of great NEW titles (even the newest "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book!) and a good range of prices to choose from. The fair will be open on two evenings for families to browse and shop with their children. The first evening is on Friday, November 13 during the Harvest Night hours and then again on Tuesday, November 17 before and after the 2nd grade/3rd grade music performance.
